Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Freelance Content Strategist to support our Integrated Marketing & Communications team. This role is ideal for someone with at least 5 years of proven experience in social and content strategy, who thrives in a freelance environment, can work independently, and is also confident collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

As a Content Strategist, you will shape content direction, create messaging frameworks, guide channel planning, and help develop creative storytelling across social, digital, and owned platforms. You’ll work closely with our internal PR, social, and creative teams to produce content that aligns with brand tone, campaign goals, and audience insights.

Applicants must be based in one of the following markets: Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, or Singapore.

 

Responsibilities

·       Develop strategic content frameworks for campaigns across social and digital platforms.

·       Work closely with internal teams (PR, social media, creative) to align messaging, formats, and publishing cadence.

·       Provide advisory on channel strategy (including platform best practices, formats, and content planning).

·       Create and refine content briefs, messaging houses, and editorial calendars.

·       Draft or edit high-quality content for various platforms (posts, articles, video scripts, etc.).

·       Guide junior team members and/or freelancers where necessary to ensure content is on-strategy and on-brand.

·       Monitor content performance and provide data-informed recommendations.

·       Ensure all content is aligned with client objectives and optimized for engagement and impact.

·       Attend client briefings and present content strategy or insights as needed.

Job requirements

Requirements

·        Minimum 5 years of experience in a content strategy, social media strategy, or related communications role (agency or in-house).

·        Strong portfolio of content work across different industries, ideally with some B2B exposure.

·        Able to work independently and manage your own workflow, while also collaborating effectively with internal stakeholders.

·        Demonstrate the ability to understand the engagement metrics and KPI’s

·        Excellent knowledge of research requirements for social media strategy

·        Good knowledge of paid social media advertising

·        Excellent ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize them

·        In-depth understanding of various social media platforms and their algorithm changes

·        Strong organizational and time management skills

·        Outstanding brand awareness experience will be preferred

·        Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·        Strong understanding of social and digital platforms, audience behaviours, and content trends.

·        Comfortable interpreting data and performance metrics to shape content recommendations.

·        Familiarity with tools such as Meta Business Manager, Google Analytics, or scheduling platforms like Hootsuite or Buffer.

·        A keen eye for details
